Extreme dieting is usually not very safe. But there is one kind of “extreme dieting” that may lead to a healthier lifestyle. After being tweaked and developed, it is used as the basis for the 17 Day Diet. It alternates between two calorie controlled version of low-carb dieting.

17 Day Diet is the First…

Hundreds of people push low-carb dieting, but the 17 Day Diet is the first to limit consumers to 1200 calories a day, which by the way is still healthy. In fact, most nutritionists have said that sticking to 1200 calories a day is a great way to lose weight.

17 Day Diet is also the first to include a specific exercise plan that is supposed to be adopted.

A Multi-Phase Diet

Like many others, the 17 Day Diet is a multiphase diet. Phase 1 is restrictive. It requires you to eat fewer calories than your body needs. This promotes weight loss. Phase 2 is more liberal than Phase 1. Phase 3 allows you to eat more and you will lose less. Phase 4 is meant to help you to maintain your weight loss. All the phases push a low-carb lifestyle.

The 17 Day Diet is supposed to be a unique low-carb diet. However, it looks almost identical to every other one out there.

The 17 Minute Workout

The 17 Day Diet recommends a daily workout that lasts for 17 minutes during Phases 1 and 2. Realistically, even a highly intense 17 minute workout may not be enough to promote significant weight loss. Experts recommend that you run, walk, or otherwise complete a 60 minute cardio workout every day to lose weight!

After Phase 2, the 17 Day Diet recommends that you exercise for 30 to 60 minutes per day.

What the Experts Say

The experts say that the 17 Day Diet may be good for diabetics; after all, it’s a low-carb diet. They also say that if you actually follow the 17 Day Diet, you could lose weight. However, the 17 Day Diet is not a unique low-carb diet. If you try one, you try them all.
