4 Day Diet

4 day diet

The 4 Day Dietwas written by the now infamous Dr. Ian Smith of Celebrity Fit Club. He is the author of the Smash Diet and the Extreme Fat Smash diets, promising to help dieters to overcome the major pitfalls of dieting and the extremes that can hold you back. Despite what you might think, the 4 Day Diet does not last for 4 days, instead including 7 stages, each 4 days long.

How Do These 7 Stages Work?

Technically, each stage is supposed to be different. Ideally, you would assume that yes, you would never get bored and you would lose a ton of weight at the same time. And maybe it would even ease you into healthy living. But you are in for a rude awakening if you think that. Just think about the stages:
• Detox
• Transition
• Protein stretch
• Smooth(some cheat foods)
• Push (the sprint
• Pace
• Vigorous

The last first and last 3 stages are the strictest, requiring you to stick to a strict regimen of fruits, vegetables, maybe some water, and maybe a diet soda depending on the one and limited amounts of those. Yes, those approaches will help you to lose weight fast. But what does that tell your body? It tells your body that it is starving and should therefore work to conserve more fat and energy.

Even though each stage is on 4 days, most of the stages have similar calorie counts, similar restrictions (known for causing diet boredom), and most are practically the same diet with slightly different portion sizes, and one focuses on more protein, which by the way your muscles need.

The 4 Day Diet does undermine itself in certain ways, actually recommending that you drink diet sodas. I know, everybody tells you that diet sodas have a lower calorie count. But realistically, diet sodas reeducate your body and have been clinically proven to contribute to obesity. So while you really should stay away from soda, regular soda is better than diet, which you would think an expert would’ve known.

But then again, he doesn’t seem to understand the reasons why most people hate dieting or for that matter the concept of long term lifestyle changes.
