Known as the only FDA approved over the counter weight loss medication, Alli provides capsules and an online support plan to help you reduce your diet essentially to a no fat diet. Even the manufacturers don’t advertise it as a diet pill, but rather a “lifestyle change.” This would be great, except they use it as an excuse for a product that does not actually provide real results. They claim that you can lose 50% more weight. But with the diet they require, you would lose a significant amount of weight anyway. However, being that most dieters don’t actually follow Alli’s requirements, side effects are common and results are rare. Side effects include diarrhea, orange spots, gas, and many report that Alli suggests users wear darker pants and adult diapers for a reason, as more often when you think you are going to fart, you actually poo your pants. In a 1 year trial, patients using the prescription dose of Orlistat(Alli uses half), achieved 5% or greater weight loss 35.5% to 54.8% of the time. 16.4% to 24.8% of patients lost at least 10% of their weight. So if you weigh 200Ibs, you can expect to lose 10-20Ibs. A regular diet and exercise plan should help you to achieve 8Ibs per month. And after patients stopped using Orlistat, many gained back as much as 35% of the weight lost. All in all, the only thing you will achieve with Alli is extreme embarrassment, we would not recommend it.

Alli is a complete waste. I lost about 3 pounds in a month, and it came back once I stopped taking it.

with just diet and exercise, I was losing about 1.5-2.5 pounds per week. With Alli, I just stopped losing weight all together.

My friend looked up the studies for me to prove to me that nobody had lost weight using Alli. I used it for about 2 weeks before she did that, and in that time I went through all the embarassing side effects they talk about, and I lost about 2 pounds.

Alli is such a waste of time and money. I ended up with diarrhea in my pants more than once, and it took me a full week to cycle it out of my system.

I used Alli for one month. I did drop about 5 lbs in that month, but I had to be extremely careful with what I ate. If I had any food with a lot of fat, I had to make sure there was a toilet nearby. Once you get used to the side effects. It is fairly easy to make sure you are eating the right foods. DON'T underestimate the horror stories that you hear! Otherwise you will soon be experiencing one yourself. I was lucky enough to be at home when I had my first "accident".
