Conjugated Linoleic Acid
Many people believe that Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is one of the best weight loss ingredients available.
The naturally occurring fatty acid has undergone several tests in recent years. Each test has shown that it helps people lose a significant amount of weight. The people didn’t even have to make any lifestyle changes either.
However, these tests are not enough to convince critics of CLA. They may have a good reason to be skeptical. Other tests of CLA showed that the substance did not help people lose any weight; even after 1 year.
What is CLA?
As previously mentioned, CLA is a fatty acid that can be found in meat and dairy products. You can buy CLA in capsule or liquid form. Or you can buy a weight loss pill that has it as an ingredient.
CLA is supposed to increase the rate with with fat is broken down. It seems to effective decrease body fat and may be able to increase lean muscle mass. CLA is also used to treat or prevent certain types of cancers.
Does CLA Help You Lose Weight?
This is actually an extremely different question to answer. There is not a lot of research available on CLA. What research their is usually disagrees on whether or not the fatty acid produces results.
Some studies of CLA show that it can reduce body fat, but it doesn’t reduce body weight.
Perhaps if we understand how CLA reduces body fat and increases muscle, we would be able to decide if it is an effective weight loss ingredient. Unfortunately, this is something that scientists don’t even know. They are still searching for the answer to this and many other questions about CLA.
Should I Buy a Weight Loss Pill With CLA?
There is no harm in buying a weight loss pill that has CLA; as long as the other ingredients are also safe, of course. Our opinion of CLA is that although the ingredient is not completely understood; it does have some ability to promote fat weight loss.
Hopefully future research will shed more light on this ingredient, its abilities, and its weight loss properties.
