Isodrene
Using hormones for weight loss is one of the more controversial methods in the industry. HCG in particular has gained wide spread popularity due to its supposed ability to help consumers lose extreme amounts of weight in a short time frame.
However, there is no clinical evidence to support HCG as an ingredient for weight loss, and we have our suspicions that it’s the low-calorie, no-fat dieting that does the dirty work rather than the actual hormone. NiGen BioTech recognized this fact and instead focused on HCG isolates to create IsoDrene rather than HCG.
In theory, when HCG is broken down, its amino acid isolates can trigger weight loss naturally and effectively. IsoDrene claims to be able to provide a bioavailable means of ingesting these same amino acids and still be 100% hormone free, purportedly offering all the benefits but without the dangerous side effects or injections.
Although NiGen BioTech has the right idea about HCG being a questionable ingredient for weight loss, we can’t help but wonder if its HCG isolate formula is a step in the right direction or a simply another placebo.
Ingredients
To keep its formula a company secret, NiGen BioTech listed its unique combination of ingredients as a proprietary blend. While we respect their need to keep other manufacturers from stealing their “winning” product, we are skeptical of its ingredient concentrations.
Although certain ingredients such as Caffeine or Yerba Mate have the potential to help consumers lose more weight, these same ingredients need to be in specific, clinically-proven amounts in order to be effective. Too much can result in headaches, nausea, dizziness, and other adverse side effects while too little will do nothing at all. Without knowing how much of each ingredient is contained within IsoDrene, we cannot tell if this product will be an effective one.
Side-Effects
Following along the same line of thought, when used correctly, the ingredients inside IsoDrene have the potential to promote weight loss safely and effectively. The undisclosed amounts of caffeine are especially troublesome, as many people experience sensitivity to this natural stimulant. Caffeine interacts with the body’s neurotransmitters called adenosines to trigger an agitated response, increasing energy levels and sharpening mental acuity.
However, too much caffeine can cause migraines, upset stomach, jitters, and insomnia, so we recommend caution before using this product.
Is it Worth it?
IsoDrene retails at $29.99 (with possible discounts depending on which vendor you use), making it a fairly expensive purchase for such a small bottle. However, IsoDrene does contain a good selection of fat burning ingredients and essential amino acids, so at the very least, you’re getting a quality dietary supplement. IsoDrene may be used as a potential tool for weight loss when used with a sensible diet and regular exercise, but it may be safer to invest in a product that discloses its exact ingredient concentrations.
