Orlistat
Orlistat is a weight loss supplement ingredient that works as a fat blocker. This ingredient may be able to keep your body from absorbing a portion of your daily fat intake thus causing you to not retain an over abundance of calories and fatty deposits on your frame. Orlistat can be found in current formulations such as the over the counter Alli in 60mg and the prescription required Xenical in 120mg. These products are available at varying prices. Alli is old for around $23 per a 20 pill supply and Xenicol is sold for around $258 for a 90 pill supply. Orlistat is an FDA approved ingredient which indicates it has been researched to some degree and found to be safe.
The idea of a supplement being able to literally keep the fat that you eat from taking up permanent residence on your thighs might seem enticing but the truth is that any product containing Orlistat requires strict adherence to a non-fat diet in order to avoid some quite unsavory side effects such as oily or loose stool, frequent or urgent bowl movement, gas, orange spots and diarrhea. Further deterring you from the use of Orlistat is the fact that even the most successful test subjects only experienced a weight loss of 5-10% of their original body weight after a year’s time. They also regained the weight once they stopped taking Orlistat.
Orlistat doesn’t seem to have the potential strength that an ingredient would need to have to make these side effects worth the risk. The truth is that following the non-fat diet is probably just as much to blame for the weight loss as Orlistat and therefore we recommend doing the diet on its own as you will see the same results and will not have to worry about the horrifying side effects. We do not recommend the use or purchase of any product that contains Orlistat.
