Plan D Diet
In the 80’s, it was all about the Jenny Craig diet plan and a makeup line called Jaffra. In the 90’s, the Atkins Diet was all the rage. And now, it seems like we just can’t decide. We have hundreds of different choices, all calling out to us, most of which are low carb.
Nothing works for everybody, and it partly depends on you, your discipline levels, your readiness. And the Plan D Diet or Anti-D diet is no exception to the rule. I’ve seen it described as the “best impulse buy ever” and as the diet plan that helped the originator lose 100 pounds and keep it off for 18 years! Maybe this is just me. Who really knows anymore. But that sounds pretty impressive!
I don’t really care how long it took for her to lose 100 pounds. I’m more attracted by the fact that this woman successfully kept the weight off for 18 years! After all, we’ve all used diet plans that helped us to lose weight only to have it bounce back a few weeks or even months later. The biggest thing this tells me is that the diet is sustainable. But what does it really mean?
Why the Plan D Diet Works
The basic idea behind the Plan D Diet is to eliminate processed foods. By doing this, you eliminate the preservatives that some scientists say make you fat. You can’t completely eliminate bad fats. But you can minimize it. You cut out artificial sweeteners, white flours from breading, refined white sugars, artificial colors and flavors, and realistically, the foods that scientists say make you fat!
And you would ideally make better food choices, eating more fruits and vegetables and improving your health at the same time. You can cut out expensive multivitamins, because obviously, you’re getting enough vitamins from healthy fruits and vegetables, and Dee McCaffrey also suggests that you exercise. If you follow this diet plan, you will lose weight! And if you maintain it, you will be able to keep it off!
Why You Don’t Have to Pay for Plan D Diet
Yes, Plan D Diet works, and you would think that’s where it would end. But McCaffrey is no diet genius. Realistically, McCaffrey is a bit extreme, suggesting that you cut out all processed foods. But the Plan D Diet is based entirely on common sense! Eat more fruits and vegetables, don’t drink soda, drink more water, these are all things we’ve heard before! People stop drinking soda and lose an average of about 10 pounds all the time!
The End Story
I’m conflicted on this one. Yes, the Plan D Diet gives you guidance, and that is invaluable. But are we so lost that we have to be told that eating more fruits and vegetables will help you to lose weight! I’m glad that Ms. McCaffrey changed her life, and I don’t doubt that she has helped people to lose weight and improve their health. But it seems to me like something we could all do for ourselves.
