Accelis
As seen on TV, Accelis is marketed as an easy weight loss solution. It is to be taken before bed, and aims to promote 10.65 pounds of weight loss fast. Its main ingredient it bases its claims on is called corsolic acid, which has been used to control blood sugar levels.
The Good: Accelis uses 3 teas: oolong tea, white tea, and green tea, to promote weight loss. Green tea may also work as an antioxidant and cleanse the body of some chemicals that may be inhibiting general health and weight loss. They provide a convenient schedule, being that it only has to be taken once right before bed, and it takes minimal effort, being that the majority of weight loss would be promoted as you sleep. However, they still suggest combining this supplement with a healthy diet and exercise plan. It has been marketed largely through the internet, radio, and TV ads. So it can easily be found and purchased by those interested.
The Bad: Accelis, like so many other companies claims their formula is "clinically proven" and "doctor formulated." To back this up, they claim scientific studies have been conducted on their main ingredient, corsolic acid, which supposedly showed an average weight loss of 10.65 pounds of those using this ingredient vs the placebo group who lost only 5. However, they do not provide any real information about the study or any of its credentials, and I could not find any proof of this study in the credible scientific community. Reliable testimonials seem scarce, and some users have complained of side effects such as indigestion and dizziness.
The Skinny: Accelis' biggest claim to fame and popularity is the fact that they can be easily located by potential users. However, they also use advertising portals, like the internet, to avoid accountability to their customer base. They make a lot of unsubstantiated claims, and as such don't even bother trying to actually back them up. This seems to be just another TV scam.
