Certiphene
Certiphene professes to burn fat, curb appetite, and build muscle. One of the major ingredients is hoodia, which is a recently popularized appetite suppressant mostly found in Africa . They also promise you will meet your 30 day weight loss goals while boosting your muscle mass or your money back. They cite a number of studies conducted on the obesity epidemic in America and many of its nasty side effects, and they stress that "10% makes all the difference."
The Good: Certiphene uses a few good ingredients such as chromium picolinate, L-arginine, and guarana. Chromium picolinate, for one, has been clinically proven to increase the results of diet and exercise alone. The website also cites multiple clinical studies and convincing testimonials, and they accept returns.
The Bad: While they use clinical studies conducted on their main ingredients, there are none on the whole formula. In addition, you have to assume they are using the amount used in the study, which is unlikely. You will likely lose only a few pounds, and the amounts of each ingredient are too small to make a real difference.
The Skinny: Certiphene includes no superstars of the vitamin and supplement world. The website uses a lot of general statements rather than specifics, as shown in the lack of actual average weight loss numbers. I would not suggest this supplement in any crowd.
